Deformant

To join the uprising and become a deformant is to sacrifice everything. When it was discovered that EN1 could potentially bestow super human abilities on those who were exposed to it, the people of Neo Plasia saw their chance to overthrow their oppressors. the longer an individual has been exposed to element -1 the more extreme the mutations. Initial changes are subtle, the need for little or no food and sleep, enhanced strength and tolerance of the chemical atmosphere. However as it is metabolised fully, rampant mutation occurs resulting in horrific bodily changes and mental degeneration. Even if they should be victorious in their fight they will never be able to return to their former lives. As such many deformants carry mementos of the families they fight for.
