A Feast for the Birds

This personal digital painting is the culmination of acouple of different topics ive been exploring over the last year or so. It began with me exploring alternative designs for Mermaids, featuring crustacean elements rather than the typical fish ones. Im also a huge Lovecraft fan (incase you couldn't tell by now) and did a drawing inspired by 'The Shadow over Innsmouth', showing a deepone maybe about to have its way with a human.
These threads came together in this painting. I wanted to create an atmospheric piece that was both familiar and yet uncanny.
